Due measures have been taken to use glauberite as natural mineral fertilizer and substitute fertilizer in co-op farms in the northwestern part of the country including Ryongchon County in North Phyongan Province.

The glauberite contains macro and micro indispensable elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, manganese, zinc, copper and sodium and other beneficial elements and rare-earth elements.

It can be used in all paddy and non-paddy fields except paddy fields with high salt concentration, including tideland paddy fields.

Wide use of glauberite is of important significance in steadily increasing agricultural production.

According to survey data, hundreds of millions of tons of glauberite are deposited in the country.
