Present there were officials of relevant units including the Ministry of Urban Management and the Grand People's Study House and members of UNDP, UNICEF, WHO, the mission of the European Union Programme Support, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation here and a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK.

Speakers at the workshop referred to the efforts made by the DPRK government to preserve water resource and put its management and use on a rational way.

They underscored the need to intensify the preservation of natural environment on a worldwide scale so as to settle the serious water issue arising in many countries and regions.

The participants watched a TV program and photos on the securement and sustained use of water, a precious natural resource vital for existence and development of mankind.
