The Hydro-meteorological Observation Instrument Factory under the State Hydro-meteorological Administration has recently made movable automatic meteorological observation device which is useful in ensuring quickness, correctness and scientific accuracy of hydro-meteorological data.

Ri Sung Chol, manager of the factory, told KCNA:

The new device makes it possible to automatically measure the atmospheric temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, sunshine duration and others in real time and send them to observatory by radio.

It makes meteorological observation according to observation indices like underground temperature and the amount of ground evaporation.

It has been introduced into more than 100 hydro-meteorological observatories. It can be used in various sectors of the national economy like aerial and marine transport and agriculture, and education units at all levels.
