Study Tour Group Arrives at Mangyongdae

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- A study tour group of schoolchildren from across the country for 250-mile journey for learning to mark the lapse of 95 years since President Kim Il Sung made the 250-mile journey for learning arrived at Mangyongdae, his birthplace. The group left Phophyong on March 16 to go along the course associated with the footprints of the President and which was covered by leader Kim Jong Il. Its members marched more than 320 kilometers past Hwaphyong, Janggang, Kanggye, Jonchon, Hyangsan, Kujang and other areas to reach Kaechon, where they took train to get to Pyongyang on Thursday. Amid welcome by citizens, the marchers arrived at Mangyongdae. Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Hwi, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the youth league Pak Chol Min, Chairman of the Education Commission Kim Sung Du, officials concerned and officials of the youth league greeted the marchers and joined them in the journey. A meeting marking the arrival of the study tour group at Mangyongdae took place at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School. Before the meeting, the participants laid a floral basket at the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the school and paid respects to them. Pak Chol Min made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches. |
