Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, and Oskar Molleby, chief of the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, were elected co-chairmen of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
