Plants of Tropical, Subtropical Zones Grow in Central Botanical Garden of DPRK

Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Plants of tropical and subtropical zones are growing in the greenhouse of the Botanical Museum in the Central Botanical Garden of the DPRK. Banana, Pinus longifolia, hemp palm, cycad, date palm, gum tree and other plants make a tropical forest in the greenhouse. Seen in the entrance of the greenhouse are different kinds of cactuses and aloes. There are also Araucaria cunninghamii, Osmanthus fragrans, Michelia longifolia and Clivia miniata. Han Yong Man, curator of the museum, told KCNA: The number of visitors is on the increase in spring. More than 1,000 plants of 200-odd kinds are growing in the greenhouse of the museum associated with the leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung. |
