The statement said that Kim Il Sung put an end to the Japanese imperialists' military occupation, accomplished the historic cause of national liberation and defended the country's sovereignty from the U.S. imperialists' aggression.

He is the founding father of socialist Korea who turned the DPRK into a country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence and tender-hearted father of the Korean people who devoted his all to the country's prosperity and people's happiness all his life, the statement said.

It noted that he made a great contribution to the development of the friendly ties between Indonesia and the DPRK and the accomplishment of the global cause of independence.

His great exploits will be deeply cherished in the minds of the Korean people and world progressives, it added.
