Maina, secretary general of the Tanzania－DPRK Friendship Association who is vice-chairman of the Tanzanian National Coordinating Committee of the Juche Idea Study Groups, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

It decided to hold colorful political and cultural events such as seminar and lecture in praise of the revolutionary career and feats of the President on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
