Present at the event were officials of ministries and national institutions and those in the fields of public health and media and members of missions of international bodies here including representative of the WHO, the UN resident coordinator and concurrently UNDP resident representative.

At the event speakers talked about the advantages of the socialist healthcare system of the DPRK in which the state takes the full responsibility for the lives and health of the people with care.

They stressed the need to establish the system for health service for all people in all countries for the purpose of the sustained development and advanced health service, and to secure enough number of health service workers.

The event heard data on universal health service and the section doctor system which is being enforced in the DPRK.

The participants looked round posters and photos dealing with the prevention of noninfectious diseases and universal health services.

They toured the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital.

On the same day the intensive hygienic information service took place in every province.
