Korean Embroidery with Long Tradition
Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- Embroidery has a long tradition in Korea.

According to a history book of China, nobles of Puyo (before 7th century B.C.-late 3rd century B.C.) wore embroidered silk clothes when they visited foreign countries.

This fact proves that silk production and embroidery were developed from ancient times in Korea.

Korean embroideries artistically reflect noble character of the Korean women who are gentle outwardly but firm inwardly.

They are well known to many countries, to say nothing of neighboring and European countries, for their high artistic depiction, varied techniques and beauty.

Now the Korean embroidery has been developed suited to socialist way of life and national aesthetic taste.
