The Swiss preparatory committee for celebrating the 106th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said in a joint statement that the Day of the Sun of this year marking the 70th founding anniversary of the DPRK is of special significance, praising Kim Il Sung's nation-building exploits.

The statement said:

President Kim Il Sung is the father of socialist Korea.

All the policies for the people originate from his life-long motto of believing in the people as in Heaven.

Under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the outstanding strategist, the army and people of the DPRK repelled the U.S. imperialists' invasion and won the brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

In his lifetime the President had worked hard for the people's happiness, national reunification and peace of the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world.

The Day of the Sun has now become the biggest holiday of the Korean people and the world progressives.

The British preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun said that Kim Il Sung is the eternal President of the DPRK and a prominent teacher of the world revolution.

It noted that he is the iron-willed brilliant commander who liberated Korea from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and defeated the U.S. imperialists and the tender-hearted father of the people, who built the socialist system centered on the popular masses in the land of Korea.
