First Pyongyang Int'l Vocal Competition Closes
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The First Pyongyang International Vocal Competition, which began on April 5, closed on Thursday with due ceremony at the Moranbong Theatre.

Attending the closing ceremony were Pak Chun Nam, minister of Culture who is chairman of the organizing committee of the competition, officials concerned, creators and artistes of national art organizations and teachers of art educational bodies, concours prize winners, foreign artistes, members of the international jury and honorary guests.

Present on invitation were foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of international bodies and officials of foreign embassies here.

Cups, medals, diplomas and prizes were awarded to those artistes who proved successful at the competition.

Kim Kyong Ju (DPRK) took the first place, Bayarsaikhan Batjargal (Mongolia) and Li Stanislav (Kazakhstan) the second place, and So Un Hyang (DPRK), Ryu Kum Chol (DPRK) and Martirosyan Marianna (Armenia) the third place.

A technical prize and an acting prize went to Baasansuren Enkhnaran (Mongolia) and Kapachinskikh Kirill (Kazakhstan).

Pak Chun Nam made a closing address.

At the end of the closing ceremony, there was a performance by prize winners of the competition.
