Present at the reception on invitation were Wang Chen, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Communist Party of China and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Wang Yajun, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., CPC, Kong Xuanyou, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Song Yancao, deputy director of the Office of International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Commission, Wu Donghe, chairman of the China-DPRK Friendship Association, and other officials concerned of China, and foreign diplomatic envoys to China.

On hand were Ji Jae Ryong, DPRK ambassador to China, and staff members of his embassy.

Prior to the reception, the participants looked round the photos dealing with the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's visit to China.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Ji Jae Ryong said that the traditional DPRK-China friendship, personally provided and cultivated by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il together with the Chinese leaders of elder generations with much care, is now vigorously developing at a fresh high stage under the deep care of the supreme leaders of the two countries.

He went on:

The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made his first unofficial visit to China like lightning with the unshakable will to strengthen the DPRK-China friendship on a new high level, true to the noble intention of the preceding leaders. And the supreme leaders of the two countries had in-depth exchange of views on the important matters including the development of the bilateral relations of friendship and handing of the situation on the Korean peninsula.

The DPRK will do its utmost to steadily develop the traditional DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations together with Chinese comrades, true to the intention of the supreme leaders of the two countries, in the future, too.

Wang Chen said that President Kim Il Sung, the great founder and leader of the Korean party and state, visited China more than forty times in his lifetime, forging deep friendship with the Chinese leaders of elder generation, and made great contributions to consolidating the China-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations.

The traditional China-DPRK friendship is a common asset of both sides, he said, adding: As mentioned by General Secretary Xi Jinping, the Chinese party and government are attaching great importance to the China-DPRK friendly cooperative relations and it is their consistent policy to creditably defend, cement and develop the relations.

The Chinese party and government sincerely hope that the economy of the DPRK would develop and its people would enjoy a happy life, and support the Korean people steadily advancing along the road of socialism under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Chairman Kim Jong Un, he stressed.
