Joint National Meeting of KCU Bodies Held
Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- There was a joint national meeting of the organizations of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on Sunday in celebration of the 106th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Taking part in it were delegates of KCU organizations from each province and schoolchildren in the city of Pyongyang and those pupils to join the Union.

Present there on invitation were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Su Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, and officials of the youth league, war veterans and persons of merit.

Pak Chol Min, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, made a report.

He noted that President Kim Il Sung provided the glorious tradition of the Korean children's movement.

He stressed the need for all the KCU members to be always ready for the socialist country in the embrace of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

There was an admission ceremony.

Led by Choe Hwi, the pupils joining the KCU took an oath.

Officials, war veterans and persons of merit tied red neckties around their necks and attached KCU badges on their chests.

The pupils made the first greetings of the KCU member, responding to the slogan "Let us be always ready for socialist country".

O Ryong Thaek, rector of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Song Chang Il, a researcher at Kim Il Sung University, and Pak Yong Mi, player of the Pyongyang Sports Team, in their congratulatory speeches appealed to those KCU members to prepare themselves to be revolutionary able persons, knowledgeable, virtuous and healthy to keep the oath they took before the KCU flag.
