In this regard the south Korean military is trumpeting about "rendering the combat might of the reserve forces to the extremes", adding that "they would play a role for war victory".

A commentary of Minju Joson Thursday, branding this as a provocative act of going against the trend of the times, says that the untimely act of the south Korean military greatly disappointed Koreans wishing for peace and reunification.

The commentary continues:

Going against the desire and wish of the public at home and abroad to see the present situation on the Korean peninsula continue to bring about greater fruition, the south Korean military spurs the preparations for a war with the fellow countrymen in the north while watching for a chance for invading the north.

Through the establishment of the war service command, the south Korean military seeks a sinister intention to adjust the "Homeland Defence Reserve Forces" that was founded as civilian military organization in April 1968.

Such moves are aimed to keep the reserve forces, tantamount to standing army, under the control of the military and hurl them into the war of aggression against the north together with the south Korean army in the event of contingency. This is a shameless act of attacking with a dagger while making a smile on the face.

If the south Korean authorities truly want dialogue and peace with the fellow countrymen, they should not remain an on-looker to such confrontational act of the south Korean war-like military forces.
