Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C.C., Korean Social Democratic Party, Ri Son Gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK, Pak Myong Chol, director of the Secretariat and Presidium member of the C.C., Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, members of political parties and social organizations, members concerned of the North Headquarters for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, the North Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the North Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification, former unconverted long-term prisoners, working people in Pyongyang and overseas compatriots.

He said that the joint conference, held at the initiative and under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, was a historic national gathering for saving the destiny of the country and the nation through the great national unity under the banner of reunification and patriotism.

The President led a struggle to solve the nation's issue by the efforts of the Koreans themselves in line with the desire and wish of the entire Korean nation, the reporter said, and went on:

The cause of national reunification which the President pioneered and led to victory had been successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il.

This cause, to which Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il put their lifetime devotion, has now greeted a new turning phase and is vigorously advancing under the outstanding guidance of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The reporter called for waging an unflinching struggle to bring earlier the final victory in building a powerful socialist country and the independent reunification of the country, rallied close around Kim Jong Un.
