There was a starting ceremony of the solidarity march in front of the Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification.

Present there were Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK), vice-chairpersons of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with the World People (KCSWP), officials of the SWUK Central Committee and women workers of different social strata.

Attending it were Lorena Pena, chairwoman of the WIDF, and members of its leadership, women delegations and delegates from different countries taking part in WIDF meetings.

Speeches were made there.

The chairwoman and vice-chairwoman of the WIDF hailed the important decisions made at the Third Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, extending greetings to Chairman Kim Jong Un who set forth the new strategic line on channeling all efforts into the socialist economic construction and developing science and technology.

The energetic activities and efforts made by the DPRK, creating the atmosphere of detente and peace on the Korean peninsula and the region are supported and welcomed by the international community, they said.

The KCSWP vice-chairpersons called for strengthened solidarity among the world people aspiring after independence and justice and loving peace and expressed the will to fully discharge their international obligations in building a new world free from aggression, war, domination and plunder.

A solidarity statement of the WIDF supporting the just cause of the Korean people and women was made public.

The participants of the march started from the Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification.

The crowd ardently welcomed the marchers positively conducting the righteous international solidarity activities.
