Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, Thae Hyong Chol, minister of Higher Education who is president of Kim Il Sung University and chairman of the DPRK-Iran Friendship Parliamentary Group, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Ryu Myong Son, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Ik Song, director general of the General Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps, and officials concerned.

The Iranian ambassador and staff members of his embassy were on hand.

Seyed Mohsen Emadi, Iranian ambassador to the DPRK, said in his speech that Kim Il Sung paid deep attention to the development of the friendly relations between the DPRK and Iran, adding that the traditional friendly relations provided by the preceding leaders of the two countries have covered the path of development for many years.

He stressed that they heartily hope for the common prosperity and development of the two countries, referring to the reality of the DPRK steadily developing under the wise guidance of the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Choe Thae Bok said it is an expression of deep reverence for Kim Il Sung that the friends of Iran have splendidly celebrated the Day of the Sun every year. It is also the reflection of the Iranian government and people's firm will to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, he added.

He stressed that the DPRK would as ever extend full support and solidarity to the just struggle of the Iranian government and people, expressing the stance of the DPRK government to expand the friendly and cooperative relations with Iran in various fields.
