Eight articles including articles 3 and 7 were revised or supplemented.

Those articles stipulate such legal requirements for food hygiene as ensuring sanitary conditions, preventing food pollution, using sanitary materials and checking food safety to be abided by at food-producing or -handling establishments.

Articles 4 and 5 of the law had been already revised and supplemented in Juche 102 (2013).

As required by the developing reality, the DPRK has steadily amended and supplemented the law to establish the strict systematic order in food hygiene and ensure food safety, as part of its efforts to protect and improve the health of people.
