Anniversary of South Koreans' April 19 Uprising Observed by British Bodies

Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association UK and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula released a joint statement on April 19, the 58th anniversary of the south Korean people's April 19 uprising.

The statement said that the April 19 uprising was an eruption of the south Korean people's pent-up wrath at the corrupt Syngman Rhee dictatorial regime, adding:

The uprising opened a new chapter in the history of the south Korean people's struggle for independence, democracy and reunification.

The spirit of the uprising is still alive.
