During the festival there was an exchange of valuable successes and experience gained by scientists, technicians and officials from across the country, conducive to quickly putting the national economy on a Juche, modern and IT basis and developing the technical engineering of various sectors including IT, nano-technology and bioengineering.

Present at the closing ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, and officials concerned.

The results of examination were announced at the ceremony.

The special place of the festival was taken by the Ultra-modern Sci-tech Exchange Company of Kim Il Sung University, the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and four other units and the first place by more than 80 units.
