The decision sincerely welcomed the north-south summit of Korea, noting that the summit serves as a new starting point for durable peace on the Korean peninsula.

It said "Panmunjom Declaration on Peace, Prosperity and Reunification of Korean Peninsula" signed by the top leaders of the north and the south clarifies that the north and the south would make joint efforts to substantially defuse the danger of a war on the Korean peninsula.

It noted that the Panmunjom Declaration is greatly supported by the progressive people in the world as it reflected the desire of the whole Korean nation.

The 23rd Congress of the Communist Party of India extends a salute to the Workers' Party of Korea, it added.
