Present there were officials in the field of public health, those of ministries and national institutions and media, members of missions of international organizations here including the acting UN resident coordinator and concurrently representative of the WFP and the representative of the United Nations Population Fund and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Speakers said that the International Midwives Federation proposed "Midwife leading the way with quality care" as the theme of this year and are conducting diverse activities to enhance the responsibility and role of the midwives.

They stressed the need to positively increase the ranks of midwives in different countries and provide the pregnant women and nursing mothers with the high-quality healthcare of the able midwives in the period of pregnancy and parturition and after childbirth.

The participants enjoyed an art performance given by officials in the field of public health and looked round the photos showing the Korean women leading a happy life.
