Kigwancha Football Team

| Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- The Kigwancha team took the first place in men's first-class football tournament of the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest that took place in Pyongyang for 20-odd days to celebrate the Day of the Sun. The team belonging to Group B won the second place in group league matches of the tournament with three wins, one draw and one defeat to be qualified for semifinals. It overpowered the Ryomyong team 3:1, the winner of Group A, in the semifinals and in the finals beat the Rimyongsu team, winner of Group B that defeated it 2:0 in group league matches. The Kigwancha team scored two goals in about 22 and 29 minutes, but the Rimyongsu team a goal in 32 minutes. It took 13 years for the Kigwancha football team, winner of the 2004 Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest and 13th People's Games 2016, to emerge victorious in the tournament. |
