Panmunjom Declaration Supported by Nigerian Personage
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Damian Ogbonna, national chairman of the People's Progressive Party of Nigeria and chairman of the African Regional Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People, issued a statement on May 3 in support of the Panmunjom Declaration.

The statement said:

The leadership of the People's Progressive Party of Nigeria and all the party members heard in great excitement the news that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and President Moon Jae In had a north-south summit in Panmunjom and signed the "Panmunjom Declaration on Peace, Prosperity and Reunification of Korean Peninsula".

In the declaration the top leaders of the north and the south solemnly declared before the 80 million Koreans and the whole world that there would be no longer war and a new era of peace has opened on the Korean peninsula.

The Panmunjom Declaration serves as a new landmark of epochal significance in reconnecting the severed blood vessel of the Korean nation, hastening co-prosperity and the future of independent reunification and ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

We hope that the north and south of Korea will open a new era of national reconciliation and peace and prosperity as indicated by the declaration.

We also extend firm support and solidarity to the efforts of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people for reunification of the Korean peninsula.
