The statement said that the Panmunjom Declaration signed by the top leaders of the north and the south raised fresh hope and belief that the independent reunification could be realized by the will and efforts of the Korean nation.

It stressed that the committee would positively turn out in the struggle for peace and prosperity and independent reunification of the country clarified in the above-said declaration with high sense of responsibility and firm will to be conducive to the historic turning-point.
