Wolmido Women's Football Team

Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- The Wolmido team defeated the Amnokgang team 2:1 at the away match that took place on May 5 as part of the 2017-2018 DPRK women's A-class football league championship, thus putting an end to the proud record of six wins in six matches the latter set from December last year to March this year.

In March, it beat the Jebi team 2:0 and drew 1:1 and 0:0 with the Pyongyang and Naegohyang teams.

Now, it takes the fifth place in team standings with four wins, two draws and one defeat.

Praising the Wolmido team for scoring 13 goals and losing only three goals in seven matches, experts say it would produce better results in coming matches.

Some days ago, the team defeated the Pyongyang team 1:0 in the finals of the women's first-class football tournament of the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest held to celebrate the Day of the Sun.
