Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The committee for reunification of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the U.S. No-war Trade Union Council reportedly held a joint press conference in Seoul on May 3, calling for building a mechanism for peace on the Korean peninsula, according to the south Korean internet paper @ minplusnews. Speakers said that peace and reunification should be achieved by the south Korean people themselves and the U.S. should stop slapping economic sanctions based on armed forces and munitions industry and interfering in other countries' internal affairs. Noting imperialism doesn't bring peace and prosperity to the people of the U.S., they said the U.S. troops should be withdrawn from across the world for the sake of democracy and peace. A press release was read out there. It stressed that the U.S. should completely withdraw its THAAD from south Korea, halt joint military drills with south Korea, lift the policy hostile to the DPRK and conclude a peace treaty with it. |
