The meeting discussed the issue of carrying through the tasks set forth by the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un at the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

At the meeting a reporter and speakers stressed the need for the union organizations to intensify the political and ideological work among its members so that they can deeply grasp the new strategic line advanced by the Party and dynamically turn out in the revolutionary general offensive, the grand march for economic construction.

They said that the union organizations should enhance their militant function and role in every way and the union officials should become standard-bearers and engines inspiringly arousing its members to the grand march.

They also underscored the need to establish the traits of attaching the utmost importance to science and education such giving priority to the educational work, respecting and cordially treating the scientists, technicians and teachers and helping their families well.

Present at the meeting were members and alternate members of the SWUK Central Committee and officials of the union.
