Abolition of "Special Agreement on Defense Cost Sharing" Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations in south Korea including the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification held a press conference around the U.S. embassy in Seoul on May 15 at which they denounced the unjust demand of the U.S. for increasing the upkeep of its forces in south Korea, according to a report.

The speakers said that the U.S. shouldn't demand the increase of the defense cost sharing but instead return the funds it has illegally accumulated so far.

A press release was announced. It said that the "special agreement on the defense cost sharing," symbolic of the unequal "south Korea-U.S. alliance," should be scrapped.
