Present there were at least 10,000 citizens of various circles including members of the Kwangju Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration and the April 16 Consultative Council of Families of Victims and bereaved families of the victims of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.

Speakers said that the fighting spirit of the uprisers who devoted their precious youth and life to independence and democratization of the society and national reunification is recorded everywhere in Kwangju.
