The Third Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the WPK set forth a new strategic line of concentrating all efforts on socialist economic construction, reflecting the requirement of the developing revolution, and discussed and decided on the issue of bringing about a revolutionary turn in the work of science and education for implementing it, the editorial says, and goes on:

Attaching importance to science and education is a consistent policy of our Party.

"Let us make a leap forward by dint of science and guarantee the future by dint of education!" This strategic slogan reflects the firm will of our Party to gain the higher goal of socialist construction ahead of schedule by putting spurs to the building of a science and technology power and a talents power and to glorify Juche Korea as a prosperous socialist state and the best powerful country of the people.

Great changes and leaps unprecedented in 5 000-year-long history of the nation are taking place in our country. The dignity and national power of the DPRK reach the highest ground, a new history of putting the national economy on a Juche, modern, IT and scientific basis opens and praiseworthy successes are being made in the drive to breaking through the cutting edge. These are the precious fruition of the foresightedness and wise leadership of our Party which has given priority to the development of science and technology and the training of talents despite the severe trials.

Our revolution will courageously tide over any difficulties and more vigorously advance faster as there is the leadership of the Party attaching most importance to science and education and taking positive measures for their development.
