The tournament, held in Khabarovsk of Russia on May 15-20, brought together 160-odd men and women boxers from more than 20 countries and regions, including the DPRK, China, Russia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Choe Chol Man and Choe Hye Song defeated all rivals with their high technique and fortitude in the men's 60kg and women's 60kg category bouts to obtain gold medals.

Meanwhile, in the women's 51kg, 57kg and 75kg categories bouts Pang Chol Mi, Ri Ok Byol and Pak Un Sim won silver medals and Kim Jang Ryong a bronze medal in the men's 49kg.
