Imperialist Idea and Culture Are Means of Aggression and Domination: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The reactionary idea and culture of the imperialists paved the way for their aggression in the past, but today play the key role in aggression, says Rodong Sinmun in an article Sunday. The article continues: The imperialists now leave no means untried to realize their design for domination over the world. One of the methods is the reactionary ideological and cultural poisoning. It is the calculation of the imperialists that they can attain their aims without firing a single shot if they make the people degenerate and disintegrate ideologically and foment social disorder. So they have long and persistently resorted to the reactionary ideological and cultural poisoning after they set it as the primary target to benumb the national independent consciousness of the peoples of countries advocating independence against imperialism and destroy their revolutionary faith. The main object of their ideological and cultural poisoning is to spread the bourgeois ideology and the capitalist way of life to other countries. The bourgeois ideology and culture are the dangerous ideological poison to benumb the sound consciousness of the people and make them ideologically degenerate and deformed. If a man degenerates ideologically and morally, he is hard to revive. If a nation becomes degenerate, its country becomes weak to be doomed to ruin. The imperialists' reactionary ideological and cultural poisoning is aimed at the overthrow of social systems and regime change by benumbing the revolutionary and class consciousness of the people and making them degenerate, disrupting the unity and cohesion of anti-imperialist independent countries and fomenting internal disorder. The reality shows that unless such poisoning is prevented, it would impossible to defend independence and socialism and achieve the independent development of each country and nation. |
