Swiss, UK Bodies Issue Joint Statements

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Swiss and British organizations respectively released joint statements on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising in south Korea. The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in the joint statement referred to the massive armed uprising during which south Koreans made do-or-die resistance against the colonial rule of the U.S. and the military fascist dictatorship and for independence and democracy of society and national reunification. The statement went on: The bloody suppression of the uprising was an unethical massacre and the wire-puller is none other than the U.S. The U.S. and those who took part in the massacre should admit their crimes and they deserve international trial. The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association UK and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula in a joint statement said that the Kwangju Popular Uprising opened a new chapter in the struggle of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and reunification. The blood shed by the uprisers was not in vain, the statement noted, adding: We fully support the struggle of the south Korean people. U.S. forces, get out of south Korea. |
