Present there were delegations and delegates of 38 countries including the delegation of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

The meeting heard briefing about activities of the WFDY after the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students and the political situation of every country and discussed such issues as the action program for the year 2018.

The speakers said at the meeting that the progressive people and youth and students in the world should unite as one and resolutely fight against the high-handed and arbitrary practices and war moves of the hegemonic forces.

A political resolution was adopted at the meeting to extend solidarity to the struggle of the Korean people and youth for the building of a powerful socialist country and the independent reunification of the country.

Extending full support and solidarity to the principled proposals of the DPRK for independent reunification, the resolution approved the Panmunjom Declaration adopted by the bold decision of the DPRK.

It also supported the new strategic line of the Workers' Party of Korea to concentrate all efforts on the economic construction and extended solidarity to the drive of the Korean people and youth to carry out the line.
