Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man and vice-chairpersons Nam Sung U, Pae Ik Ju, Pae Jin Gu and Kang Chu Ryon of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Chairman of the Chongryon Central Audit Committee Hong In Hum, members and advisers of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, an adviser to the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters, leading officials of Chongryon central organizations and business groups, members of the Chongryon Central Audit Committee, and deputies chosen from institutions, organizations and businesses at all levels of Chongryon.

A congratulatory message to the congress from the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was read out.

Adopted were the agenda items of the congress "The report on the work of the Central Committee of Chongryon to the 24th Congress of Chongryon", "On financial settlement and budget" and "On election of officials of central institutions of Chongryon" after a report on the examination of qualifications.

Chairman Ho Jong Man said in a report that Kim Jong Un's congratulatory message to the congress is an expression of political trust and glory.

The 24th Congress of Chongryon is a meeting of glory and loyalty as it is held after Kim Jong Un was elected as chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and a meeting of unity and victory for setting up a new milestone in developing the movement of Koreans in Japan in the great era of Kim Jong Un, the reporter stressed.

Saying that the deputies to the congress have an important duty to take the responsibility for the happiness of Koreans in Japan and the future of generations to come, true to the trust of Kim Jong Un and the expectations of compatriots, the reporter called upon them to fully discharge their mission and responsibility in the struggle for bringing about the comprehensive prosperity of the movement of Koreans in Japan in the great era of Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made on the first agenda item.

Introduced at the congress were congratulatory messages and letters and video programs from officials and institutions at all levels in the homeland including the Committee for Aiding Overseas Compatriots of Korea, organizations of overseas compatriots, foreign friendship bodies and personages of south Korea and different countries.

Personages from Japanese political parties, social bodies and solidarity and friendship organizations made congratulatory speeches at the congress.

Delegates of the Korean school youth and children in Japan entered the venue of the congress to congratulate the congress.

The committee of model officials of the Chongryon Central Committee and the committee of financial settlement and budget examination were formed.

The report of the congress was adopted as its resolution.

After a report by the committee of financial settlement and budget examination on the second agenda item, the results of examination were adopted.

Ho Jong Man was elected as chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Nam Sung U, Jo Il Yon, Pak Ku Ho and Kang Chu Ryon as vice-chairpersons and Pae Jin Gu as vice-chairman and concurrently director general of its General Affairs Department.

Members of the Central Committee and members of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon were elected.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the congress.

At the end of the congress, the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon was formed at the First Meeting of the 24th Central Committee of Chongryon and chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon were elected.

During the congress there was an exhibition of photos dealing with the exploits of Kim Jong Un and the struggle of the institutions at all levels of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan.

There were also a music and dance performance and an exhibition showing the successes made by Chongryon in developing national education.
