New Natural Monuments Registered
Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Ryongaksan spring water, Hwapho auriferous spring water and Kumya Korean poplar were newly listed as natural monuments of the DPRK.

The Ryongaksan spring water at the foot of Mt Ryongak in Wolro-ri, Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang has been known among people for its good taste and quality from long ago.

Even the local name of Wolro-ri owes its origin to the area of quality water that has produced many macrobians. And that is way many people have frequented the mountain to drink spring water.

The Hwapho auriferous spring water in Hwapho-ri, Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province is a rare one having peculiar effects of health improvement and medical treatment.

It contains an eyeful of gold, silver, selenium, etc. with its association degree standing at 8.

The Kumya Korean poplar is the tallest and oldest among Korean poplars in the country. It is 38 meters in height with its crown 26 meters wide from east to west and 26.5 meters from north to south.
