Women's Union Officials Tours Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu

Hyesan, June 8 (KCNA) -- Primary information workers of the women's union from across the country toured the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from June 3 to 8 on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. They left Hyesan and arrived at Pochonbo, where they went round various parts of the battle site including the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, post office, subcounty office, fire hall and police substation. They visited the Spring Site in Poso-ri and toured Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong and Konchang Bivouacs via the Tableland of Junghung, and went round the Samjiyon Grand Monument and the groups of subsidiary theme sculptures. They also went round the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station. They climbed Mt Paektu after touring the Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site and the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area, on which they pledged to firmly preserve and glorify the Juche-oriented revolutionary traditions and demonstrate their mettle as Korean women in socialist construction. They visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp and went round Sokjon Tailor Shop and Kwangson Photo Studio at the Sinpha Revolutionary Site. They helped the builders in the area of Samjiyon County Town which is being turned into a sacred land of the sun. During their tour they conducted diverse political and cultural activities including a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerillas read by them. |
