Present there were officials in the field of public health and those of relevant units, voluntary blood donors and the acting representative of the WHO office here and other foreign guests.

Speakers at the event expressed thanks to those voluntarily donating their precious blood to save people's lives and recover their health, referring to the theme of World Blood Donor Day for this year.

They stressed the need to fully supply safe blood and its products in the public health so as to make a positive contribution to treating patients, noting that the event will mark an important occasion in developing the blood transfusion service.

The participants went round the blood-gathering room and photos showing blood-donating activities before enjoying a performance given by the Central Art Squad for Agitation for Increased Production.

The Day was also observed in all provinces on the same day.
