S. Korea: Memorial Service for Democratic Martyrs Held

Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations in south Korea held an all-people meeting in Seoul on June 9 to honor the memory of those who fell in the struggle for the nation and democracy, with the 31st anniversary of the June Popular Resistance as an occasion, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Tongil News.

At the meeting speakers called for realizing peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula and building a society for the people by inheriting the spirit of the martyrs.

In a resolution the participants declared that they would fully discharge their duty in building a reunified country where independence, democracy and peace are realized, true to the ardent wish of the martyrs.
