Hydroelectric Output Increases in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Hydro-power stations have steadily increased the electricity production in the DPRK.

In this regard, Ju Yong, a department director of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, told KCNA:

To solve the electricity problem is a prerequisite for implementing the five-year strategy for national economic development and the main link in the whole chain of developing the economy and improving the people's standard of living.

The hydro-power stations across the country have produced millions more kWh of electricity every day than scheduled.

The Hochongang, Suphung and Jangjingang power stations have applied modern digital speed regulator and exciter to new-type hydraulic turbine, thus carrying out their daily output plans by 1.1 times.

The Pujongang and Kanggye Youth power stations also overfulfill their daily quotas by ensuring high water level and efficient operation.

Meanwhile, small and medium hydro-power stations boost the electricity production by scrupulously managing equipment and improving technical control.
