Attending the meeting were members of the North Side Committee led by Chairman Pak Myong Chol, a delegation of the South Side Committee led by its Permanent Representative Ri Chang Bok and a delegation of the Overseas Side Committee led by Chairman Son Hyong Gun.

At the meeting they unanimously stressed that the north-south summit held in June 2000 for the first time after national division and the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration were a great national event which put an end to the history of mistrust and confrontation and ushered in a new era of the national reconciliation, unity, peace and reunification.

They expressed resolve to conduct a brisk movement for implementing the Panmunjom Declaration, saying that the present era is a new high stage of the June 15 era of reunification, and made an agreement on the following issues:

1. June 15 All-Korean Committee decided to hold fast to the June 15 joint declaration and its successor Panmunjom Declaration as a reunification milestone common to the nation and press ahead with the pan-national movement for implementation of the declaration and thus positively promote the national reconciliation and unity.

It decided to firmly adhere to the principle of national independence that the Korean nation decides its destiny by itself, in all activities for the improvement of the north-south relations and the national reunification.

It decided to proactively wage a campaign for defusing the military tension and removing the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula and resolutely reject any act obstructive to the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration.

2. June 15 All-Korean Committee decided to launch a nationwide movement for supporting and implementing the Panmunjom Declaration with all Koreans at home and abroad.

It decided to hold joint national events with splendor on the anniversaries common to the nation such as the 11th anniversary of the October 4 declaration and actively promote visits, contacts and solidarity activities among the organizations of different circles, sections and regions in the north and the south and abroad, with a view to revving up the atmosphere for the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration among all Koreans.

It decided to discuss the issue of holding August 15 joint national event, depending on the situation.

June 15 All-Korean Committee decided to make every effort for realizing a pan-national grand meeting for reunification.

It decided to jointly stage strong actions to make the Japanese authorities ensure the national rights and interests of Koreans in Japan and liquidate all the crimes committed against the Korean nation.

3. June 15 All-Korean Committee decided to expand itself as required by a new era of history.

It discussed the need to add the issue of implementing the Panmunjom Declaration to its statute and agreed to decide it at the meeting of June 15 All-Korean Committee in the future.

The participants in the meeting agreed to hold the meeting of June 15 All-Korean Committee on a regular basis at the beginning of every year and discuss the orientation of the movement for national reunification.
