Zaher al Khatib, secretary general of the Lebanon Federation of Workers and chairman of the Lebanese Committee for Support to the Reunification of Korea, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung with the approach of the 24th anniversary of his demise.
