24th Congress of Korean Youth League in Japan Held

Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The 24th Congress of the Korean Youth League in Japan (Jochong) was held at Korean University under Chongryon (General Association of Korean Residents in Japan) in Tokyo on June 24. Attending it were Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman and director of the Organizational Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Kim Yong Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Jochong, and other deputies. Read out at the congress was a congratulatory message from the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to the 24th Congress of Chongryon. And introduced were congratulatory messages from the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League, the Youth and Students Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration and the Children's Union of Wakayama Korean Elementary and Secondary School under Chongryon. Chairman Kim Yong Ju in his report recalled that the Korean Youth League in Japan pushed forward the patriotic movement during its work of 23rd-term in hearty response to the letter sent by Kim Jong Un on May 25, 2015. He referred to the tasks to be carried out by Jochong in the efforts to implement the decision of the 24th Congress of Chongryon. Solidarity addresses were delivered by the chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Students in Japan, the chairman of the south Korean Youth League in Japan, the president of the Council of Young Men's Associations of Japan and the chairman of the League of Socialist Youth of Japan. Then speeches were made by officials of Jochong organizations at all levels. Deputy Jo Myong Jin was elected chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Jochong. Jo Il Yon made a speech. He stressed the need for Jochong to fully discharge its mission and role in the patriotic movement for implementing the decision of the 24th Congress of Chongryon. A letter to Kim Jong Un was read out at the congress. |
