Victor Manuel Lucas, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People of Spain, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of his demise.
