Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The Taean Heavy Machine Complex in the DPRK has recently upgraded large processing equipment to further increase their capacity. The complex, in cooperation with researchers of the State Academy of Sciences, newly developed the CNC curved-surface welder and put the equipment for heat-treatment of large toothed gear on a CNC basis. And it installed the planetary reducer-combined servomotor at tens of large CNC machine tools, thus saving the manpower and electricity by 30 and 40 percents respectively and raising their productivity 1.5 times. The CNC curved-surface welder is of great economic value for its high efficiency. The equipment for heat-treatment of large toothed gear fully ensures the surface hardness of cogs and depth of quenched case, thus raising their serviceable life 6-10 times longer than before. According to Ri Yong Hwan, vice-chief engineer of the complex, the complex is hastening the modernization of the production process and equipment, including all-purpose comprehensive processing lathe and planer-type milling machine. In January Juche 98 (2009), leader Kim Jong Il visited the complex and underscored the need to dynamically push ahead with the project for putting itself on a modern and scientific basis as well as further improve the quality of power-generating equipment by introducing the advanced technologies. |
