Koreans in U.S. Flail Japanese Regime's Encroachment on Korean Students' Rights
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. released a statement on June 28 over the fact that the customs authorities of Kansai International Airport in Japan forcibly confiscated personal belongings of the students of Kobe Korean High School under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) who returned after visiting their homeland on the same day.

The statement charged that the Japanese customs authorities confiscated different kinds of personal belongings including cosmetics and soap under the pretext of sanctions on the DPRK.

This is the result of the Japanese authorities' hostile policy toward the DPRK, it pointed out, branding Japan's sanctions against the DPRK as inhuman and unreasonable step of violating international laws.

Japan should immediately stop the hostile policy toward the DPRK and the outrageous encroachment on the rights of Koreans in Japan, the statement said, adding:

If Japan withdraws all kinds of discrimination against Koreans in Japan and the policy on exterminating the Korean nation, it will be the first step for improving the relations between the DPRK and Japan. With this as start, Japan should honestly apologize for its past crimes.

There is no future for Japan without the settlement of hostile acts against the DPRK and Chongryon.
