Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- There remain many cultural heritages in the DPRK which show high architecture and fine talents of the Korean nation. One of them is Hyon Hermitage in Mt Jangsu called Hwanghae Kumgang. The hermitage, affiliated to Myoum Temple, stands on a 120 meters-high rocky cliff in Mt Jangsu, Sorim-ri, Jaeryong County of South Hwanghae Province. It was built before the 10th century and rebuilt in the early period of Feudal Joson Dynasty (1392-1910). It is 11.2 meters in the length of the front and 6.35m in the flank with a double-eaves gable roof. The splendidly colored hermitage is in good harmony with the beauties of the mountain. Now, the hermitage has been preserved well as a national treasure, thanks to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on the protection of national heritage. The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his famous work "National Heritage Conservation Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation" underscored the need to preserve historical remains and relics in their original state. |
