S. Korea: Former and Incumbent Officials of DSC Indicted

Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- The Army Human Rights Center, a civic organization of south Korea, referred former and incumbent senior officers of the Defense Security Command to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on July 10 on charges of hatching a plot to quench by force the people who turned out to impeach traitor Park Geun Hye in March last year, according to Yonhap News.

The former commander and incumbent chief of staff of the DSC worked out a detailed plan to declare "martial law" and quell the candlelight demonstrators by force in reaction to possible rebuff following the overriding of the impeachment of Park Geun Hye, the organization held.

The reason why the officers were referred to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Court was because there was doubt about whether proper investigation could be conducted by the military prosecution, it stressed.
